Wake up! The Northeast Mississippi Birthing Project blog is back online and getting better each day!
Sorry for the year-long break, everyone. There has been a lot happening here in our humble Tupelo office, and I’ll share a bit with you about it. First, I’ll introduce myself, the voice behind the keyboard: I’m Zola Pickett, the admin assistant, community-based doula trainer, and social media magician!
I’ve volunteered with the Birthing Project in several different aspects since 2011, and am looking forward to bringing you news & pictures from all of our exciting community events.
What’s been up while we’ve been away? We have…
**Welcomed at least a dozen new babies into our growing tribe**
**Welcomed and graduated our first classes of community-based doulas & breastfeeding peer counselors!**
**Began providing, at no charge, a doula and breastfeeding peer counselor to any little sister in our program who wished for one.**
**Welcomed more new volunteer sisterfriends to our circle–umoja, sisters!**
**Safety-checked & installed car seats so that kids can ride safely**
**Had one of our most popular community baby showers to date!**
That’s a lot, and those are only just the highlights!
